The Clubhouse
Reminiscent of an 18th century English country manor, the Golden Valley Country Club Clubhouse is a majestic structure overlooking the eighteenth hole.
Golden Valley Country Club’s beautifully decorated clubhouse, featuring 60,000 square feet of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the golf course, exposed wood-framed beams, sprawling vaulted ceilings, majestic gabled roof lines and state-of-the-art technology, sets the stage for wedding ceremonies and receptions, social events and business meetings. Built in 2002, the Clubhouse boasts more than 10,000 square feet of functional meeting space, and can accommodate up to 700 guests. Whether you’re coordinating a corporate function or planning an elegant wedding reception, all events at Golden Valley Country Club are executed with uncompromising excellence.

About the Course
Located just minutes from downtown Minneapolis, the Golden Valley Country Club golf course is second to none.
Designed by A.W. Tillinghast, one of the most preeminent classic golf course architects, our 18-hole, par 73, world-class golf course not only features the best playing conditions in the Twin Cities, but is arguably the most scenic, challenging, enjoyable and golfer-friendly course you’ll ever want to play. Other noted Tillinghast designs include Baltusrol, Winged Foot, San Francisco, Quaker Ridge and Bethpage Black, and to date, his course designs have hosted more USGA Championships than any other architect in America. Tillinghast gave Golden Valley 18 outstanding holes which have played host to both professional and amateur tournaments throughout the years. Golden Valley Country Club provides all of the design features that Tillinghast believed were important to a championship course. The course features a risk-reward approach to tee shots and approach shots. Good shots are rewarded and allow for scoring opportunities. Wayward shots will find trouble and require a variety of rescue shots to recover.
Think about the great golf courses Tillinghast has built. I’m a Tilly fan so I read his books and I read his theories and everything that he does. He played you from flat bunkers with grass faces just like this. So he wanted you to put the ball in the air out of the bunkers. Genius idea!

THE COURSE
Tillinghast believed that “a round of golf should be 18 inspirations”. This is reflected in his design and in the name of each hole which is meant to be directional, inspirational and cautionary.
Many of the greens bear the Tillinghast signature: severely sloped, typically from back to front and protected by deep bunkers at the front corners. These features are complemented by the century-old trees that line the fairways, making position off the tee a key ingredient for scoring well. Like most other great Tillinghast courses, Golden Valley has worked hard to preserve its heritage with very little substantial change over the years to the course layout. The club has brought in golf architects strictly as surrogates for A. W. Tillinghast. Their mission has always been to bring the course closer and closer to the original Tillinghast concept. The bunkers have been restored to their original design and location. A variety of tee boxes have been created that allow the course to remain challenging as technology in equipment has advanced. The course can be played from distances of 5,400-7,002 yards making it fun, but challenging for all abilities.

Tennis
Tennis at Golden Valley Country Club
Golden Valley Country Club is home to one of the premier tennis facilities in the Midwest. With six outdoor tennis courts; three Har-Tru clay courts and three hard-surface courts. the club also features one of the best tennis observation decks in the Twin Cities.
Golden Valley employs an USTPA Director of Tennis and a professional staff who operate the club’s tennis facility and offer tennis lessons and drills for all ages and abilities.
Tennis Complex
The tennis experience offered is unique and one that creates memories for many years to come!
The tennis complex is comprised of five tennis courts, and five pickleball courts. There are three Har-Tru clay courts, two hard courts, and five pickleball courts that can be enjoyed during the spring, summer, and fall months. The courts are in excellent condition and the ambiance that the country-club provides is pristine! The tennis complex also features an excellent observation deck where members and guests can watch the exciting tennis being played.
The tennis complex also features a complete full-service Tennis Pro Shop. Additionally there are fully equipped locker rooms for men and women, an indoor and outdoor lounge area, and a canteen serving fresh and healthy food. Adjacent to the tennis complex is a beautiful outdoor swimming pool, which adds to the atmosphere and provides the opportunity to go for a swim after a tennis game.
Players of all ages and ability levels will truly enjoy the high quality tennis facilities and serene environment that Golden Valley Country Club has to offer!
Lessons & Tennis Pro
The Golden Valley Tennis Professionals are all certified pros with playing backgrounds, coaching experience, and enthusiasm! Members and non-members can reserve private and semi-private tennis lessons with any of the USPTA Tennis Professionals.

Pool
Swim at Golden Valley Country Club
Spend your best days of summer at Golden Valley Country Clubs outdoor, heated swimming pool. Open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, the pool area includes an ample sunning deck, a wading pool for youngsters, lockers, shower facilities and a canteen serving deliciously fresh options for poolside dining. Certified lifeguards are on duty at all times, and trained instructors provide swimming lessons for children ages 3 through 13. Plus, members' children and grandchildren can join our competitive and fun swim team.
Swim Team
The GMMO Swim Team is comprised of swimmers from four private clubs (Golden Valley Country Club, Minneapolis Golf Club, Medina Golf and Country Club, and Oak Ridge Country Club) who unite each summer to compete under the GMMO team name in the Western Swim League. Through swimming, one can learn self-discipline, goal setting, and confidence. Our goals as a team are to create a safe atmosphere in and around the water, foster a true sense of team among all club participants, and to have fun!
Swim Lessons
Golden Valley Country Club offers semi-private or group swimming lessons for children ages 3 to 13. Taught by trained instructors, each class is tailored to different swimming abilities, from inexperienced swimmers through intermediate swimmers. Children will learn a variety of techniques, including water management skills, standard strokes, back floats, underwater swimming, rhythmic breathing and more. We even have classes for children interested in learning the basics of snorkeling.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
Golden Valley Country Club offers a variety of youth programs designed to involve all ages. All programs are led by professional coaches and focus on helping to develop life long skills, physical fitness, socialization and a way to promote a positive use of leisure time!

- Junior golfers ages 9 to 13 can also join the GVCC Golden Bears. This team participates in the PGA Junior League Golf Program
