The Twin Cities business journal reported on July 26th that Restaurateur Heidi Ortiz has requested a conditional use permit to build a 7,200-square-foot commercial building with restaurant space at 5292 Kyler Ave. NE. She and her husband Luis have launched seven other Mexican restaurants across Minnesota, including Casa Amigos' Lucky #7 on Lake Minnetonka and Riviera Maya Cantina in Maple Grove, among others.

"Our city is finally bringing in some really long-overdue businesses and restaurants. When we built our home in Albertville back in 1999, there were only 3,000 people. Now there are almost 8,100.
For many years, city approvals for new businesses were restrictive. Multiple Commercial Zoned Lots have sat here vacant for literally 20+ years. Many restaurants and merchants have pushed to the Otsego side of 94, where the outlet mall is located, or have completely relocated to the next cities over, including Rogers and Monticello.
